What do you do if they dont have any CWR's? Do you just walk out? Do you have the tellers giving you wierd looks and attitude? The bank is the last place I want to draw attention to myself at, I'm not paranoid I just don't want to be on any radars

i take whatever they have. CWR do seem to be the most likely to have silver, but i've gotten silver from BWR, CWR, loose teller halves, and bags. Sometimes i can "tell" i'm about to get skunked, and sometimes i'm completely wrong. Therefore i take any halves i can get my hands on and hope for the best.

Holy Moly - That is excellant!!! If I hit something like that, I think I'd be bouncing off the wall, I'd be so ecstatic....

As to my own quest for Christmas silver, I'm half way thru the 2nd $500 box of half dollars - still nothing. But on a brighter note,
I picked up $100 of dimes last Thur. Searched thru 4 rolls this morning before work, and the first coin of the
second roll was a 1951 Rooseveldt.

The quest continues...

OK......This year Silver Santa was good to me.....

Found a Roosie in the Coin Star!

and in the $400 in nickels I have acquired since Thanksgiving.....10 war nickels

I also got 9 Buffalo Nickels and 2 V Nickels in that time. Yeah, I know that is Nickel Claus, Not Silver Santa, but me thinks they are related! I need to take candy to the elves at the bank!
If they give you lined paper, write the other way....

Here are my findings during December, 2013:

HALVES:
From Saturday the 28th: $228.50 total face from 5 different banks (0 silver)
From Tuesday the 31st: $203.50 total face from 4 different banks (1 -90%er (1964) + (4) 40%ers = 5 silvers)
(NOTE: All 5 silver halves were in the same roll- it had a person's name and acct. no. on it- I was excited before I even opened the roll- I figured this was someone who is definitely NOT a user of this website, if you know what I mean!)
5 silvers from a total of $432.00 face in halves- not like the good ole days, but at least I didn't get skunked...

DIMES:
$500.00 face from 2 different banks (1 silver dime) (also found a second one (1953-D) in a Coinstar machine)
(also found (7) 2009 dimes)

NICKELS:
$200.00 face from 2 different banks (2 war nickels- both 1943-S) (also (7) 2009 nickels)

Also, I've got a question- I see that Portland Mint (Adam Youngs) is selling $330 face in .999 Canadian nickels for $660 plus freight (10 cents each). I figure it would take roughly 4 US nickels to come up with the same amount of nickel, since ours are only 25% nickel each. I realize the other 75% of our nickels are copper, but does that sound like a good deal to you on the Canadian nickels? Also, has anyone hear dealt with Adam? Is he trustworthy?

Finally, I hope everyone has a FANTASTIC 2014!
Former stock broker w/ ~20 yrs. at one company. Spoke with 100k+ people and traded a lot (long, short, options, margin, extended hours, etc.).

NOTE: ANY stocks I discuss, no matter how compelling, carry risk- often
substantial. If not prepared to buy it multiple times in modest amounts without going overboard (assuming nothing really wrong with the company), you need to learn more about the market and managing risk. Also, please research covered calls (options) and selling short as well.

Ask Highroller4321 about him. He's got all of the dirt on Adam. ;)
