It's an over simplification that sees one facet and attributes everything to that one thing, but there is truth in it. Putin is more active when he has more money.

His thesis is that "If we reformed our monetary control system to guarantee the real value of the dollar" it would bankrupt Russia. How can that be done? Would not that also make the stock market and financial system collapse for the west?

So this person's solution is to prop up the already failing fiat dollar by manipulation of the gold and likely the silver markets. Drive the prices down and with the wave of a magic wand to bankrupt Russia. In the mean time the rest of the world roast marsh mellows by the fire and sings Cumbaya.

I think any "restructuring" of the dollar would have to include retiring the old one and making an entirely new currency. Good for PMs, bad for everything else.

I have not read the article yet, but isn't this (and other markets as already proven) what the u.s. (us) is already doing? This may bring Rus down but only as we drag the rest of the world down with us.

I stopped scanalyzing the article when I was about 1/3 of the way through it. Not worth reading the rest.
