scrap #1 copper question

Postby maoguinn » Sat Mar 29, 2014 8:44 pm

I have been saving all #1 copper scrap hoping for a major price increase in the long run. My question is should I hold on to this and keep adding to it, or buy silver while the price is low? I have about 60 - 70lbs of copper. Any thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.

That's true, so what are your thoughts on the future of copper, lets say in 15 to 20 years? I'm not sure how high copper will go since it is so widely used. I know silver will be sky high so I am still stacking silver a little at a time. I have a pretty sizeable copper penny hoard, just wondering if I should keep hoarding scrap. Thanks, Mark.

I would sell copper to buy silver as the for silver is low. You can get more copper.

Thank you Sir. I will take your advice. Going to the scrap yard and then the coin shop this week. :)

I have around 600 pounds of #1 copper in the shop. All bare bright wire, buss bar, solids. What's the trade ratio?

Thanks for the offer but I have to make a trip to the scrap yard anyways so i'll just take the copper as well. There are some really good coin shops to choose from here in Lubbock. I rarely get silver elsewhere.
