Winning in the foreign coin junk box

Postby cooyon » Sun Apr 06, 2014 8:28 am

At our coin club show yesterday, a new vendor had a box of mixed foreign coins for .25 each...he said he had purchased 100 pounds of "unsearched" foreign coins and wanted to see how they would sell...I started pulling out 100 yen coins, there were 3 in the first handful I picked up!...ended up with 8 100 yen, 1 50 yen, 1 1968 Swiss franc, 4 Canadian large cents with dates, and 2 British halfpennies (1872 and 1882), got all these for $4...these were from a box about the size of a shoe box...I sure would like to go through the rest of that 100 pounds, hope he comes to our fall coin show!

Knowledge is power! And it pays.

My local coin shops don't have deals like this.

I'm jealous!
