I was reminded of these patterns after watching The King's Speech again last night. The article mentions them being GEM PROOF. I hate to see what the reverses look like if they're still in the original box. Those older proof cases were not exactly acid-free or whatever the inert display stuff is today.
The only official release of Edward VIII coins was in Britains East Africa Territories. These don't carry his portrait though. East Africa KM# 23 and KM# 24
I bought this one out of the big tub of 2x2 world coins. It wasn't even attributed (not that it was difficult to figure out), it just said $1 on it. Now I'm glad I bought it!!!
