important question to the Jedi's on weights and measures.

i need a lil advice here, seeing as we have to check everything these days.

i'm about 97-99% certain the stack is real live Ag, I have a digital scale, and have been EXTREMELY careful who I buy from. That said Nate from the Cave, showed a picture with a bunch of fugazi's , that on the surface "looked" real. but looking and being are two different things, I also have a mega-magnet. ( I think it was Nate...thanks Nate)

here's the question, I want to move away from measuring and weighing tools that are digital.my brother, who's a tree guy suggested a site he buys from call Ben Meadows dot. I looked at a triple beam scale to the 1gm, an OHaus, and I looked at a caliper, no digital, to the 1mm., for diameter measure.

later in the year, I want to have a long lean look at everything, are these two measuring units sufficient?

and yes, I do have latex gloves, and know that to grip coins, I don't touch the surface...or weigh and measure while eating a thin crust cheese and sausage pizza. I might be dumb, but I aint stoopid .

thanks in advance for any counsel.

btw, I have stopped buying 90's (got enough) and have confined ALL future purchases to 2014-15 Maple Leaf rolls, they've now got the radial laser etched on the obverse and reverse surfaces....I THINK they're laser etched...very thin radial lines. i'm not a big fan of rounds or ingots, that's just me.

Not in my world. A caliper that only reads to a mm is a toy. That's 40 thousandths. You should easily be able to find an inexpensive analog caliber that reads to a thousandth, and ones that read to half a thou or even a tenth of a thou can be found, but they'll probably be used tools on ebay.

Same with weighing. You really need a tenth of a gram minimum. Ideally one hundredth.

But digital will be around for longer than you and me. If you're concerned about emp keep a spare set in a metal box.

I have a "SPI" 6" electronic caliper that was reasonably priced and works great. Goes to 150mm

oh good deal for the counsel....I don't know what the heck i was thinking, especially when you got a 90% dime weighing in at 2.5 gms, you're right, so i'll just get an extra digital scale that goes to the tenth like the one I got now, and the calipers, to the thousandth I saw i'll get that.

(and Stack, thanks for the weigh in too...no pun intended.)

and 68, its not the EMP, its the batteries, I got batteries galore from AAA to D's, I got boxes and boxes of stearin and paraffin candles out the yang, I even got a 8KW auto gen that runs off a 1000 gallon propane tank...I got that mostly to insure my well, which goes down 460 feet to the sweetest drinking water you ever tasted, I kid you not, the nearest industrial fonk pit has to be 300 miles away.

regarding EMP, one time I got briefed by a guy, who's the real deal, says Cong Roscoe Bartlett has agenda...its not so much EMP we got to worry about, its HERF weaponry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Directed-energy_weapon )

and I think we might have hand held microwave "rifles"....once or twice I heard whispers from Iraq...some guys coming up on a car with 4 dead Iraqi's, right?...which can be pretty nasty, but this was beyond nasty....the bodies, dead, were the same dimensions, but all their heads were the size of grapefruits, and no signs of bullet wounds....could be bs, or a little quiet beta testing going on, as maybe the Geneva convention might that consider such a "war crime", I heard this around 06-07, so that's reason number 74, to run far away, when you hear some of these cementheads screaming loud about, "just like 1776! revolution!"...yeh right, did I say Alex Jones? (lol)

thanks for setting me straight, your bud, n.
