HIGHLIGHTS OF January's SILVER SEARCHING:
January half searching was about $11000 more than December. Production of SILVER halves was 25% more than December. $157,145.50 halves were searched, and 1359 SILVER halves were found. 4.32 SILVER halves per box on average were found. War Nicks found was exactly the same as in December (103), there were 158 SILVER dimes found (16 less than December), and 4 SILVER quarters were discovered in the wild. jtlee321 had the best $500 box in January with 46 SILVER halves. AGCoinHunter found 37 SILVERs in a $1000 bag in December. jtlee321 got 3 SILVER dimes out of a $250 box of dimes, the best one during December. jtlee321 and zerocd each found 4 War Nicks in a $100 box too.
On the leadership boards: jtlee321 found an outstanding number of SILVER halves (417), far exceeding CardsNCoins who had to settle for second with 198 SILVER halves. Hirbonzig found the most SILVER dimes (30), nudging out jtlee321 who found 27. zerocd was the best at finding War Nicks (33) and cwgii was second best with 29.
Other highlights are as follows:
1/2 - jtlee321 finds 4 War Nicks in a $100 box of nickels.
1/4 - jtlee321 finds 3 SILVER dimes in a $250 box dimes.
1/7 - Country finds 2 Barber halves in a $500 box of halves.
1/7 - AGCoinHunter gets 27 SILVER halves in a $1000 bag of halves.
1/9 - CardsNCoins finds 3 SILVER dimes in the return tray of his dump bank's coin machine.
1/11 - CardsNCoins grabs 40 SILVER halves on his road trip.
1/12 - Country gets 40 SILVER halves in a $500 box of halves, including 3 Walkers.
1/12 - zerocd finds 4 War Nicks in a $100 box of nickels.
1/13 - Rodebaugh finds his first SILVER half, a 1976-S 40%er.
1/19 - jtlee321 finds a Booker T. Washington, the first SILVER commemorative found this year.
1/19 - Dumpster Diver gets 43 SILVER halves in a $500 box of halves.
1/21 - appjoe gets a solid SILVER CWR, 20 1968-D 40%ers.
1/21 - AGCoinHunter finds 37 SILVER halves in $1000 bag of halves.

It's important to post your SKUNKS as well as your great SILVER finds. That keeps the statistics honest. I'll try to post some graphs of our SILVER finds as 2011 proceeds along by adding data to this initial post. I'll see if I can post some interesting insights into the data here in this initial post for 2011 too. Even though this is a national tabulation of all our finds, I think its fun to know what finds are being made and at what frequentcy.
It might be interesting to see how many Barbers, Walkers, Franklins, and 90% Kennedys are found too. Also, how many Barbers and Mercurys dimes we find. I'll try to keep track of all of these.
