Where to get a block of lead?

Postby brian0918 » Sat Mar 14, 2015 12:53 pm

If I wanted to get a small block of lead to weigh something down, say about 150-300 lbs, where would you suggest to get one? I'd like it to be a solid rectangular block if possible.

You are not likely to find a single block that heavy, at least not that anybody can ship. You can get pigs (cut in half) which weigh around ~52 each, or bags of shot to fill a rectangular box. They also make smaller rectangular blocks you can stack.

Solves two problems, storage and weight.
Silver Monometalism is the most permanent and stable form of money the world has seen. Natural law and history prove silver value is best multiplied by gold and best divided by copper. It is only in this counterfeit currency time when the natural law appears suspended.

Things like forklifts and other warehouse-esque equipment often has big lead weights in them - you could talk to your local scrap yard.

I made a door stop out of copper pennies filling up a jug or jar, two quart jar works for this heavy door I'm dealing with usually I'd just use a box of pennies. Wow, Mercury that's some heavy stuff. http://www.coyotesteel.com/assets/img/P ... icfoot.pdf
