On May 8th I had some extra time at the end of the day and got $134.50 in halves from 7 different banks.

Included in that total was $100 in Brinks rolls. One of the Brinks rolls had a 40% Kennedy (1968-D).

That was it, just one 40%er total after looking at $134.50 face. Oh well...

Just got back from ABQ Friday..........and picked up the remaining box of halves I had ordered a couple weeks ago.........and it was a good one.....

Monday's box of halves yielded........2 x 64 , 5 x 65, 1 x 66, 9 x 67, 4 x 68, and 1 x 69!!!!!!

4 Canadian - 1968, 1979 and two others which I can't recall...should have written them down (dealing w/chronic CRS)

I had high hopes for the '68, but it was not to be - compared by weight to several newer Canadians, as well as a known
50% silver '68, and this one has no silver.

One other tidbit, this bunch of rolls contained a large quantity of stained, mis-colored, corroded, and mutilated coins,
I dubbed them "Funkie Franks".

I've been getting skunked a lot lately from the banks I stop at on the way home from work so this morning I decided to pay a visit to the Bank of America branch near home instead. The merchant teller had a few things for me:

$20 CWR large dollars - skunk

1 - 1960-D Franklin

Grateful for the finds, but bummed because of two near misses today.
Stopped at one of my dump banks to drop off searched rolls, and heard the distinct ring of silver quarters from the vault. I could tell the tellers were emptying rolls into bags and removing the silver quarters. I caught one of the tellers I know coming out and grabbing quarters from her tray (looked to be about 30). I asked her about it, and she smiled and said she was keeping the silver (hence the reason this is a dump bank for me!) We had a good laugh and let her know she could ask me any questions about what she found, or that I might be interested in buying her finds. Oh well!

Then at one of my pick up banks, the teller let me know she had a half dollar from the sixties today, but had to sell it to the customer who asked for it.... They take really good care of me there (even though I don't have an account), so I just smiled and said it was alright. She promised to hold them in an envelope off the tray in the future.

I have to remember that I have been the beneficiary of much generosity from a lot of tellers. And although it stinks to miss out, I have found a tremendous amount over the years.
