I'll be headed up to northern Wisconsin and hitting a few Indian casinos that still have coin slot and coin video poker machines looking for silver. Last year I had poor luck on the 50 cent machines, but I did find a few war nickels in the 5 cent slots. I had my best year a few years ago when I pulled about $20 face in 40% halves out of two machines with a few 90% halves found also. Has anyone here searched the coin slots and found anything good? I know alot of casinos do not handle coin anymore and are using paper tickets instead.

I've walked into a casino with a canvas bag full of halves, sat down at a machine and then put them all in their plastic buckets. Then took them to the cashier to get cash to search for more silver. No problem whatever. I'll go sit at a machine and put the cash in and hit the cash out button, and search for silver all while getting free drinks. I think I'll get away with this as long as I do not over do it.

casinos are coinless down here now,but will still take small amounts of coin at cashier so i sometimes dump like 200 or so in halves there.they turned me down when I lugged a monster bucket of pennies in...I think they figure youre going to gamble it away when its paper, but I just walk out with it.I wish there were still coin machines down here!

i have been told that silver halves often jam the receiver and hopper, and the machine attendants take em out and swap em later.

Awwww crap!! The casinos that I stopped at have all gone to ticket in- ticket out, no more coins to look thru.
Plus i did'nt win anything either--glad to be back home and searching boxes.
