Swiss coin question

Postby gothboi30 » Fri Jan 28, 2011 10:11 pm

Hi everyone!! I got a 1979 Swiss 1/2 Franc in my $250 box of dimes today. Does anyone know what it's made out of? What years and denominations of Swiss coins have silver in them?

the 79 half franc is CuNi

i think 1967 was the last year for silver half, 1 and 2 francs, and 5 francs
My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.

But this is still current, so at least there's that bonus. Google currency converter says:
1 Swiss franc = 1.03713 U.S. dollar
So it's worth a half a buck. Good find.
