Where Will it End?

Postby beauanderos » Wed Oct 21, 2015 9:10 am

http://www.ebay.com/itm/311464847444

The 1938-D is the key for this set, and without having it in hand... hard to tell.
Could be anywhere from AU55 to MS 60/61. And that alone makes a huge difference.
Got too rich for my blood, although I had been watching it, thinking about sniping.

How loud will these puppies bark? :o

The 38d had obvious wear on the breast feathers and distracting nicks in the obverse fields. The 37d has obvious wear on her hand (worn smooth) and it also had distracting nicks in the obverse fields. As you said tough to grade without being in hand. The 40s looks real sweet!

for that all to 'work", you have to slab them all, and that's what?.....a $600 plus invoice, AND they all have to grade MS65 and higher, just the margin between 64 and 65 in past auctions is enormous.......2285.....but if you have fu money, and want to take a roll of the dice, you could 3100 dollar snipe, and see where the wheel stops, coz if you get two to four coins (the 1930's grading at MS66+ or higher).....you GOTTA have fu money to do this, coz to blow all bidders away, without the coins in hand, you snipe at 3400, just two slabbed graded 67+'s and you'd be good....

the seller cracks me up, I love it, texas unclaimed property, from unclaimed safety deposit boxes and a reported 1 billion in "holdings"...if that isn't the potential cesspool/sinkhole/quicksand for mischief/corruption/ and downright thievery, I don't what is!!! i'm cracking up!!....can you imagine being friends with the Texas guv, and being "appointed" to head up this state office?

your first day at work, say 5 people work there, and been there since the stone age...sitting atop a billion of UNCLAIMED booty?....PLEASE don't tell me there aint some mischief going on there....just look at this offering! ....ahem, where's the 37 and 39-s?....what?....they done fall off the turnip truck?....right into JimBob's pawn, who ships them off to PCGS, under the identity of some long dead clodhopper, they grade real good, JimBob heritage auctions them for Mr. Long Dead, and we do the 50/50 ole pal split.....in cash, thank you please, I am LMAO!! the depravity is just so delicious. that's how I screwed up! I didn't get me a job somewhere like this.....I LOVE IT!!!.....and of course, when the pile O Cash, gets too big, you get in cigarette boat for the trip to the bank at Saint Lucia.....BVI!!!! off shore!

bid 4000!!!!!

looks like a late bidder cost the eventual winner an additional $350 8-)

okay.....now would I be so off in thinking...just thinking , that the 2555.55 snipe MIGHT have been YOU? (lol)

it wouldn't have been a bad move, its a roll of the dice, because as I said, if you grade and slab ALL of them, if you got a couple of 66's, 67's, just those would pay for the whole lot in auction, not Ebay auction.

you can do like the Isareli's and neither confirm nor deny the existence of etc etc....or I might interpret your silence as a "yes".

i'm still giggling about the whole thing, I saved that "seller" texas unclaimed property, because they list some off beat items, plus they are probably a bent lil brood, at least you (seemingly) don't have counterfeit worries with them....I don't know.

Thanks for turning me onto that seller OB, n

ps....I think I was right in thinking that 3100 would have been a blowaway bid.......but it would have been a roll of dice.
