You can buy online (i.e. Apmex) and not pay any tax... correct?
You need to move out of that commie/socialist state. I moved out of there in 2009... haven't looked back since.

I have driven past La Grande many times, stopped for a sandwich once or twice. It seems like a nice town.
You may want to consider the effects of cannabis legalization, when deciding between Oregon or Idaho. Oregon may be at the beginning of a cultural shift due to its recent legalization.
Idaho and Utah will probably be the last two states to legalize, if they ever do that.
