PAMP, whose gold and silver products have been big targets of Chinese counterfeiters in recent years, plans to launch a new bullion security system in May 2016 called VERISCAN®. The system asserts to be cost efficient, simple to use, and highly reliable.
Each VERISCAN®-branded product is scanned during production, mapping the surface landscape on a microscopic level and tying the data to the product's serial number. The authenticity of the product can later be verified by using an iPhone 6 app or a flatbed scanner with a special positioning bracket. The VERISCAN® software compares the photo or scan to the data logged at the time of production and provides pass/fail feedback.
