Kitco has an obnoxious virus/pop-up hijack ad

It pops up a window and a loud voice yells at you. " your hard drive is about to be deleted call blah blah blah"

You have to close kitco to stop it.

I ran malwatebytes with no results.

If I have the gift of prophesy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to move mountains but do not have love I am nothing. And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned but do not have love it profits me nothing.

I never knew how many ads Kitco has until I just now turned off my ad blocker to see if I could see what you see. Yuck.

No talking pop-ups for me though. A lot of the ads are targeted based on your browsing history/habits. I get lots of Lowe's ads for items I have previously looked at.

What you describe still sounds like it could be adware on your system. In addition to periodic Malwarebytes scans I recommend running Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit (it's free, just uncheck the option for a free trial of the paid version during installation) and, if you are running Windows 7, Microsoft Security Essentials (also free). Then use Firefox with the Adblock Plus add-on (or another ad blocker of your choice).

Pain in the ass. But thanks for the advice

I think I'll just stay off kitco.

The amount of trash on Kitco is pretty amazing. I turned the ad blocker back on and the page loaded at least 5 times faster.

I get ads on Kitco, but nothing threatening me about my computer.
Former stock broker w/ ~20 yrs. at one company. Spoke with 100k+ people and traded a lot (long, short, options, margin, extended hours, etc.).

NOTE: ANY stocks I discuss, no matter how compelling, carry risk- often
substantial. If not prepared to buy it multiple times in modest amounts without going overboard (assuming nothing really wrong with the company), you need to learn more about the market and managing risk. Also, please research covered calls (options) and selling short as well.
