British one penny dated 1971 from Coinstar at Walmart.
Former stock broker w/ ~20 yrs. at one company. Spoke with 100k+ people and traded a lot (long, short, options, margin, extended hours, etc.).

NOTE: ANY stocks I discuss, no matter how compelling, carry risk- often
substantial. If not prepared to buy it multiple times in modest amounts without going overboard (assuming nothing really wrong with the company), you need to learn more about the market and managing risk. Also, please research covered calls (options) and selling short as well.

I took a bag of zinc cents to dump in a Coinstar machine today to get a gift certificate for the Home Depot. Before I could dump them I had to clear out the overflowing reject bin. Here's what I got out of there:

136 zinc cents
18 copper cents
50 Jefferson nickels
40 Roosevelt dimes
61 Washington quarters
That's $23.29 found :D :D

But there's more - a very worn out "V" nickel. The date was long gone but it's my first one of those found in the wild.

I also got a South Korea 100 Won (1990) but that's hardly worth mentioning considering all of the other the stuff I found.

Every coin counter I check is a skunk. People must be more diligent around my area.
