Lithium Ion batteries

Fellas, found a pile of these batteries. Looks like they are from laptops. Can they be recycled? My local yard said no.

Most battery recyclers will buy Li-ion batteries. In fact, they want them pretty bad around here, over a dollar a pound. Call around.

Good to know. I was going to get rid of some in the Lowes recyling bin. Now I will make my own bin in the garage and hold onto them until I have enough to recycle

Just a heads up that prices have tanked in the past few years. They got hit especially hard this year.

Below are the prices I pay locally:

laptop li-ion: $0.50/lb
other li-ion (poly/cell phone/medical/power tool): $0.20/lb

I currently don't buy NiMH or NiCd, but I don't charge a disposal fee either.
