Dunno how often you guys see this, but lately I've been encountering "Machine Full" or "Out of Order" quite a bit. I visit 3-4 times a week (Smith's also has an ATM, post office, etc). Uber frustrating.

Don't see it often at all. Either they have a single person who is dumping HUGE amounts of coin OR they have a new employee who doesn't know to call Coinstar for service.

I have wondered what happens when you are using it and it gets full? Do all coins just get rejected? I would want the person to open it up as you would think many coins were still in the processing stage before it shut down. I have herd of people that have stolen a change jar from someone's house filling up several machines and kept moving on to the next one, that is how they were caught

Interesting that it mentions steel cents, but doesn't mention war nickels or silver coins. Also, the Chinese have done such a good job of counterfeiting many U.S. coins. I wonder why they haven't counterfeited some kind of slug that could go into a Coinstar machine. Maybe it is too hard to get the size and composition to work?

4 Lincoln cents (of which two were common date coppers from the mid 70's)
Total = 54 cents

My last three finds- all from the same Coinstar at Walmart... 41, 72 (+ 3 Japanese coins) and 54 cents. Just like the fat guy in the back of the bakery said "I'm on a roll."

On Sept 1st I scored my largest single Coinstar haul with 104 coins in the reject tray. It was a good mix of modern US, my first dollar coin (2009-D) and the foreigns listed below. Also found a flattened zincoln penny on the ground near a dumpster for Disneyland's Frontier Land featuring Pluto.

16 cents (dime, nickel, penny) from the Coinstar at the local Walmart. No good dates.

You'll love this one- found two cents on the floor next to the Coinstar machine at the local Walmart.

One penny was just a regular late date Lincoln.

The other was an 1899 Indian Head cent in Good+ condition! I'll take it...

Silver dime (1963-D) at the Coinstar at Walmart. Actually a couple ladies kept having it rejected. I offered to buy their rejects and it was just that one dime. One asked the other "What year is it?" To which the other replied "1963." And then she said "You can have it."

Thogey would have likely asked "Did your husband die recently by any chance?"

Only a penny at the Coinstar, but another .12 laying on the floor nearby. So .13 total- one of the pennies was a copper.
