Sam's Club Closing Over 60 Stores

Postby Recyclersteve » Sun Jan 14, 2018 8:52 pm

For those who have Sam's Club (owned by Walmart) in their areas, you might want to check to see if yours is on the list of stores that are being closed.

In my area (which I'd like to keep confidential) they are closing on the 26th. My wife and I went by today and waited in line for 2 hours before the store opened. Almost everything in the store was 25% off. I saw a 50" TV being sold for $225. Came back about 5 minutes later to show my wife and all four of that model were gone that quickly. Still, there were LOTS of TV's left.

This could be a great deal for preppers who want to stock up in quantity on long-term storage items.

The shelves were far from picked clean when we left and the sale had been going on since the 11th. Be prepared to wait in line if you go, however.

NOTE: ANY stocks I discuss, no matter how compelling, carry risk- often
substantial. If not prepared to buy it multiple times in modest amounts without going overboard (assuming nothing really wrong with the company), you need to learn more about the market and managing risk. Also, please research covered calls (options) and selling short as well.

My local store had a line about 40 deep to get in this afternoon. I wasn’t prepared to wait in line today so Im hoping there will be some stuff left tomorrow when I have more time. Don’t pass the word :shh: !

The Sam's Club in our area still had PLENTY of stuff just past noon on Sunday, even with long lines.

Used to belong, changed to another club brand when I moved from that area years ago. They are closing the one I used to go to.

The Sam's in my area is not closing. It is the only wholesale/club type store in the area. The closest Costco is 87 miles from Sam's, and the closest BJ's is 90 miles away. So this location seems to have a decent size territory.

I meant to add that the Sam's Club in my area that is closing is practically walking distance (less than a mile) from the nearest Costco. Can remember which store opened first because they've both been around a long time (at least 15 years or so).
