Squeaked in a 2018 find by pulling a 2018-D half dollar from a Vegas slot machine.

When I started this thread in February I asked in the second post if a moderator could move it to the tracking section. This has been moved in the past but for some reason this year it has not been done. Sorry, but I don't know who to contact to have this moved.

OK folks we still have some blanks to fill in. No one has claimed the P nickel yet or the Cumberland Island P quarter, those should both be out there. The Block Island quarter should be showing up about now as well. Does Canada still use coins? No one has claimed a single Canadian coin yet! If someone with the ability to move this thread to the tracking section happens to see this post, please move this thread there.

2018-P Nickel today in change at Aldi grocery store.

Friend gave me the last several month's accumulation from her change jar as an extra Xmas present (did I say friend? I meant BEST friend! ) and I hoped to find the last two quarters needed to complete the US run. Alas, no P Mint Cumberland Island or Block Island. Only got D mint Pictured Rocks, Apostle Islands and Cumberland Islands. No Voyageurs. Hope someone finds them before 2019.

The way I look at it, the first person to find any of the needed dates gets bragging rights whether they find it this year or next.

I look at it the same way, but there's something compact and tidy about finding everything within the year of release. Allows us to fully concentrate on the new year.

On previous first to find threads we have carried over into the following year. I don't see a need to shut it off at the end of the year. The last quarter issued is commonly reported the following year if I remember correctly. It would be neat if all were found within the calendar year. Keep looking!

Oh my gosh, I never suggested this. Nor do I think discoveries after Jan 1st aren't legit. My original comment was simply that I hoped the entire run would be found in the calendar year. That's it. C'mon guys...

It would be neat if all were found within the calendar year. Keep looking!

2018-P Block island. Bought some quarters at the bank to see if I could complete the 2018 coins. Now the rolling stop auction is happening so I dont know if I will have time to search them all before midnight!

2018-P Cumberland Island! Had to go through $200 of the $500 to find them both. I did not have high hopes of finding the P mintmarks here in Minnesota, but i have found a lot of P coins here this year before finding the D mint mark. I found 2 2018 quarters and they happened to both be P coins and both the coins that I was looking for!

Got a Year 1 American Innovation dollar today from the bank here in Vegas, 2018-D. Hard to get the gold color just right in the pics, but you get the idea.
