2019 COINS FIRST TO FIND

The 2019 coins should start to show up soon. I enjoy seeing where and when each coin has been found first, so I started a new thread for 2019. Post where and when you find them and I will try to put date and finder in this first post. If you don't mind it might be interesting to know what city or at least what part of the country the coin was found in.

According to my notes it is one of my earlier annual finds, but it's not a personal best. Some that have beaten or tied it:

Jan 20th (1980) <--- All time record
Jan 21st (2001)
Feb 6th (2016)
Feb 12th (1985, 2000)
Feb 15th (2008)

My earliest in other denoms:

Feb 12th (2008, nickel)
Feb 27th (1999, dime)

The usual source for these early finds is the grocery store. In Jan and Feb I always use cash when food shopping.

I was wondering. 2019-D was claimed on 2-15. In Minnesota I will probably see my first 2019 in May or June.

(3) 2019-P cents in change last night. Pretty late for here in PA--they usually show up in February.

So today was quite a day. I found out about the W mintmark coins yesterday. On 04-01 I had noticed that Menards had new quarters in the tills, so I asked if I could buy 2 rolls. They sold them to me and I usually just mark the roll with the date and put them away. After reading about the W coins I thought I had better open the rolls up and check them out. No dice, both rolls were solid 2019-D Lowell quarters. So today I was at Menards again and on the way out I asked customer service if I could buy 2 more rolls and I was interested in the new quarters. The gal went in back and it took a few minutes but she came back with 2 rolls and said these are different from the other new quarters. I took a look and didnt recognize the design, but I figured it must be the 2nd design for 2019. I said thats fine I'll take them. They were the 2nd design quarter but they were P mintmark! So that was my first first to find this year. We were in town and while waiting for my wife I decided to open the rolls and check them out. First roll contained $9.00 of the American National Park quarter and 2 old design, 1 state and 1 NP quarter. 2nd roll also contained $9.00 in 2nd design quarters, 1-old design, 1-bicentennial, 1-NP and 1 2019 Lowell quarter. I thought Hey since the majority of the coins were P mints maybe the Lowell quarter is a P and I can get a first to find. I turned it over and it had a W mintmark! Also recieved in change at Menards my first Series 2017 FRN, its a 10 from San Fransisco.
