yesterday I went to the car wash to power wash my riding mower frame. I was preparing to install another engine in it so I wanted it cleaned of all the oil and dirt on it. When I heard the dreaded bloop of one of the engine spacers falling in the grease pit there at the car wash. CRAP. I forgot to remove those....so thinking I didn't want to make one or even wait to order a new one, I drove to the closest O'Reilly and bought a package of rare earth magnets. Drove back to the car wash and stuck them on a metal rod I had in the bed of my pickup. It took me about 15 minutes of fishing around through the metal grate covering the pit but I finally found the engine spacer along with dozens of nuts, bolts, screws, washers, bottle caps and other ferrous metals. I do not recommend doing that, it was awful smelly. The spacer cleaned up pretty good and now I have all four. The O'Reilly was about a mile away so I thought this story would qualify for this thread.
