Two stops in areas outside my metro area, but still in my state (which shall remain nameless):
One stop was a town of a couple thousand people or so that only has a single bank: $121.50 face (everything they had) yielded a single 40%er. I was hoping for more, but it wasn't meant to be.
The other was at a Circle K in a medium sized city- all banks were closed by the time I got there and I was determined to get halves somewhere so I resorted to Circle K type places. This lady said she had a co-worker bring in 4 halves. I said I'd take them all. One was a 1964- two others were 40%ers. I had just gotten $10 of gas and realized that (when you deduct the face value I paid for the halves) my profit on the silver was almost exactly the amount of the gas I'd just bought. So- FREE GAS!
Former stock broker w/ ~20 yrs. at one company. Spoke with 100k+ people and traded a lot (long, short, options, margin, extended hours, etc.).
NOTE: ANY stocks I discuss, no matter how compelling, carry risk- often
substantial. If not prepared to buy it multiple times in modest amounts without going overboard (assuming nothing really wrong with the company), you need to learn more about the market and managing risk. Also, please research covered calls (options) and selling short as well.
