Maybe fake coins? I bought some fake Mexican coins last year. Eventually got my money back but it has made me very wary. Check them well if you buy them.

Looks good to me. Why do you suspect a scam?

I don't see a scam either. He has been selling these sets for a month. His customers give him nothing but compliments and no one has complained they are fake.

My suspicion is that the user started out selling other things back in 08' then started selling this Mexican silver in January of this year. A large majority of the feedback is from the same usernames. The price he is asking is about $4.00 per coin below melt. I want to jump on it but my "Spidey Senses" are tingling.. Another fact is that he has 10 sets of 10 coins for sale for so far below melt. Typically those 1948 Cinco Peso coins sell for quite a premium on ebay.

I checked the repeat buyers, and both look good, like they have been around a long time and are happy with him. I see nothing wrong there, if I was thinking of buying.

Looks good to me to. there are several buyers. as to the guy who bought repeatedly, he bought from the guy early on. I bet he was just happy with his buy.....

though it might seem strange here. Lots of folks dont know much about these things, even those who have them. a family member inherited 200 face and just sold it based on some news channel saying it was a good time to sell gold and silver. Nothing i said meant anything to her. And she took it to a pawn shop and sold it for about 8X face less then she could of right on this forum.

Could be this guy went to a pawn shop and got offered a bad deal so he put it on ebay, for less then spot but higher then he was offered. Heck he might even think he is doing great even though hed get a better price as a regular auction.

that or its a elaborate scam or really good fakes fooling several people.... the guy who bought many lots though, look into his feedback, hes a collector of things. Likely that guy knew what is what.

Let us know how it went thogey.

I have dozens of these coins and a few fakes. The fakes are awful, they look and feel awful.

This is a beautiful coin, striking and a great bullion product. I was tempted to buy the last lot.

Thanks for all the replies. I am very interested in finding out if they are legit. I see that he lists lots fairly frequently. If they are legit, I will try to snag some if he lists more.

My order of 10 came today. 10 AU/BU condition coins. Authentic and vacume packed.

I should have bought more. Each coin cost about 3 dollars under spot. Not bad for .900.

He has another lot of .720 under spot.

Very tempting. But I've spent 4K on silver this week.

No tengo dinero ahora.
