Friday's box of halves yielded...... 1 x 67!

I haven’t picked up coins for sorting in a very long time. I stopped at a Chase branch on Saturday and asked for halves. The teller had seven rolls but could only give me two since I didn’t have a business account. It’s because of the coin shortage she told me. Now I’m wondering which local businesses are actually using half dollars for change. I also picked up $5 loose halves from another branch.

Surprisingly at my local grocery store I was handed back a half dollar in change... no silvers in the till unfortunately. I had to ask!
It seems that businesses are using whatever they can get their hands on. I have the feeling this "shortage" is never going to end. We'll hear some new excuse to why coins are disappearing from circulation.

Visited my credit union to try my luck. Foot traffic was non existent. Teller said it was slower than normal. I got lucky and was able to get $415.00 in rolls.
Found single nickels in two separate quarter rolls and then i got a Foreign slug.
Good thing I checked and learned a lesson. The slug was a 1955 Nederland Gulden juliana-6.5 gram of .072 silver.
Nothing else in quarter or dimes. Have some pennies and nickels to save for something to do this winter.

I hope that is $800 in halves. I wouldn't want to go through that much of something else, unless I had a really good idea they came from a deceased coin collector.

I have a long standing deal.they call when there is coin. That way he foes not have to pay, to have it shipped NY Loomis.
,$300 quarters. 64* 2,63, nifc s Connecticut
Middle silver ,I did not catch its edge. Good thing I put them on my tray.

$275 dimes.
Methodology. I cut the rolls in half.then slide it into my palm to look at the edge.then dump onto my sorting tray, repeat with other half. So then I look at the 50 coins, removing any, problem coin
, for spending.after all, I don't want to jam the coin counter.
In one roll I cut ,and saw silver, exciting ,one other. 64 *2. I missed the second in the edge sort. 47 i saw on the edge. 59 I was unsure, not the glaring standout, yet caught my eye enough to say, wait a second...

Nickels were less than spectacular.
Pennies were about average. Only standout being 7/8 $10 sorting increments had wheats.

Story...
Went into Chase, they have lifted the 2 roll restrictions.
Heard a child behind me, turned to look, mom is holding a bucket.I ask ,coin.yes.well I am here to buy coin,how much do you have. Close to $100.
Well as I hold up the 100 in my hand.I will save us both standing in line.she goes to the deposit bench and starts unloading. $95 but there is loose odd change. She starts counting.
Moral of the story..last coin she pulls,....a 1967 half.

Ah the mistakes kids make...got a SBA in the $50 of quarters.
$15 dimes nothing
$12 nickels ,zip
$10 pennies, 13.5% plus a ,% ,of1982.
