Grade my Morgans

I have a full roll of these 1884 o Morgans and I have no Idea how they grade, I posted a link instead of a pic because you can see it full size and zoom in.

Anybody want to tell me what they think?

I know they are uncirculated but would you say BU, Gem or what?

Nice strong strike on those, which is not common for New Orleans Morgans.

They are all UNC... some might be 63's and 64's... maybe even a 65 or two... It is a common date/mint, so they will sell as "common UNC roll"

Ok that's what I was trying to find out.

Prices on ebay are all over the place on similar Morgans, I'm trying to decide if I want to hang on to these longer (I've been holding them for 20+ years) or convert them into regular (I hate the word junk) 90% or even .999.

If the economy does not hold until retirement, and we end up buying chickens and beef with silver I doubt the farmer will give a premium on UNC coins over circ.

The guy at my LCS said I could trade for 24 or 25 F to XF Morgans or even more in G to VG.

I think on here I could do pretty good trading for reg 90% (quarters, dimes, and halves)

Not to be a wet blanket as they say, but there are some heavy marks on Liberty's cheek that knocks back the grade. Somewhat tough to tell about the fields given the pix, but they appear to have what the grading services call a "luster disruption." My grade would be MS 60-62. Still very desirable in this market for an entire roll. These seem to be selling for $35 +/- per coin with buyers standing in line. Wish I had 'em.

I wanted to resurrect this thread because this has been on my mind a lot lately. I have sold off most of my XF Morgans on Ebay and they usually bring around $42 to as much as $48 for common dates.

My last sale I sold 5 XF Morgans for a total of $204 and purchased $10 face in 90% for $203 + Tax. That is a ratio of 2-1 face value, I am not really in to numi's as much as I am concerned about the future. With that being said I think I should unload my roll of 1884o Morgans and buy 90%. Right now spot on 90% is 20X it could go lower again but you never know.

My question is this, if people regularly pay $40-$45 for XF Morgans why do they look at me like I have two heads when I say I want $1000 for a un-circulated roll of BU to MS 60 +?

Do you guys think these are worth $50.00 Ea.? or do I really have two heads?

I would say ms-63 on both from the pictures. A lot of chatter marks

UNC. I would recommend keeping them unless you need the money. One dollars worth of morgans has more silver than a dollars worth of 90% silver halves or 90% silver quarters or 90% silver dimes.

1 morgan: 0.77344 oz silver
1 dollars worth of 90% silver halves : 0.72338 = 1 dollars worth of 90% silver quarters = 1 dollars worth of 90% silver dimes.

Plus, unlike dimes, quarters, and halves, morgans are no longer in circulation and as such, have much more potential to gain numismatically.

My thought was that If I sell one MS 63 Morgan I can buy over $2 face in 90%.

From what I have seen BU Morgans are selling at $50 + and right now I can get junk 90% for 20X face.

My fear is if the economy crumbles and I have to trade silver for Beef or chickens, the farmer will give the same value for a MS 69 as a Cull.
