I like this new thread.
Even though I live in the U.S., I prefer Canadian.999 nickels. Digging into my old notes I found that in August, 2014 I posted that I had about 15-20# of .999’s. Within just s few weeks I added 281.5# more, so another 28,150 .999 Canadian nickels.
There were also about 20 lbs. of nickels that had to be weeded out, mostly early 80’s and Tombacs. So the total I looked at was over 30,000 nickels.
It took me THREE FULL DAYS to go through that many nickels.
Included in the haul were:
255 Geo. V’s
1,639 Geo. VI’s
80- 1938
26- 1948
30- 1970
That was a fun purchase to make!
Former stock broker w/ ~20 yrs. at one company. Spoke with 100k+ people and traded a lot (long, short, options, margin, extended hours, etc.).
NOTE: ANY stocks I discuss, no matter how compelling, carry risk- often
substantial. If not prepared to buy it multiple times in modest amounts without going overboard (assuming nothing really wrong with the company), you need to learn more about the market and managing risk. Also, please research covered calls (options) and selling short as well.
