Noone on the news wants to fully admit it, but has anyone noticed that we are re-living the exact same events that occurred last Fall?

1. schools opened for younger students, college students were expected to live on-campus
2. shortly after, schools returned to remote learning, college students came back home

I get that from a financial perspective, all of these organizations want to at least *try* to get back to what was normal. But, we are truly putting our next generation out there like sheep. How long will it take, THIS year, before they recognize the pattern is the same as LAST year?? FL also reported their largest single-day increase in pandemic history:

Covid deaths in Florida peaked 2 weeks ago and have fallen considerably. It is definitely spreading to people, but deaths appear to have peaked - at least here. The press is chasing the past - and reports of cases are disconnected from deaths.

Until proven otherwise (and initial reports suggest this) Omicron will be a fast spreading mild virus with less impact than the other variants. That is the way virus natural evolution (even when man made initially) works. They find the pathway to greatest spread, which is to become less deadly (which acts counter to its interest) but faster spreading. Eventually we are left with something tolerable (even if - for some bugs - the result might make us miserable or be disfiguring)

This might be just what the doctor ordered since this new variant spreads fast and is less deadly. This would be natural immunity for most of the human population.
