There aren’t nearly as many coins around with the COVID situation we’ve had the last year plus. I thought pretty surely the government would seize upon that opportunity to stop making pennies. Many feel they are the dirtiest coins out there anyway. You’d think the government would have taken the hint by now!

If the melt ban was lifted what would 'copper pennies' sell for? What would scrap dealers pay (they can not pay 'full price' as they must pay for their expenses as well as make a profit'). Thanks!

If I had to guess, scrap dealers would pay half to two-thirds of melt, which would translate to 1.5X to 2X face.

Funny joke now, but this will eventually end up happening. Biden doesn't know day from night, the order will come from his puppet masters.

TPTB will order mints to cease production of pennies and nickels (I'm surprised they haven't done this already, especially pennies), then all clad will be removed.

Copper and nickel supply has been decreasing over the long term. The push for more EV is going to help drive prices up.

I'm not selling any of it until prices increase 3-5x from where they're at now.
