Lets hear about some old nickels

Lets hear it for nickels! The last bag off the Machine yielded a cull 1909 v nickel an AU 1943 war,a 1944 worn war nick and a dozen pre 1960s.....We found a 1928 Buffalo last month....Im wondering,Im starting to search more nickels now..How often is it you run across V nickels? Weve hit two in about 800 bucks worth.How about Old Buffalos? Also best war nick box or bag so far:4 Whats yours?Keep on searchin!

Good for you. I've gone through $1600 in nickels (16 boxes) and found only two buffalos and ZERO V Nicks.

War Nix I do better...about 3-4 per box.

I sort and hoard a good bit of nickels. War nicks seem to be hit or miss both in boxes and CWR. I dont believe I have ever found a buff in a CWR, but they are also hit or miss in boxes. I personally have never found a V while searching, but they are out there. Pre 60's seem to be all over the place around here (W PA), but I keep all of em.

I've been searching coins now for over 2 1/2 years, and have not found a V nickel through my searches. Only a couple of Buffalo, and the WNs for me are a much lower percentage than the rest of the searchers seem to find.
