At the prices I'm getting it's hardly worth shipping. If you save up your pewter you can sell it through a P2P system like eBay and you'll get a much better price. It took me a long time to find a local buyer that pays a premium for silverplate.

I didn't really know about this thread and I've been recycling stuff for years. So let me chime in with my latest trip to the scrap yard, which happened on 9/28/23.

34# Aluminum irony 50% @ $0.12 = $4.08
17# Aluminum cans @ $0.40 = $6.80 (they were crushed and should've paid .45/#- missed out on an extra 85 cents- oh well) (Note also that this 17# of cans filled up an entire 27"H x 22"D
rubber trash can)
6# Christmas lights @ $0.15 = $0.90
40# Steel @ $0.0425 = $1.70
11# Bare bright copper @ $3.07 = $33.77
8# Copper #2 Tube @ $2.87 = $22.96
104# Low grade electric motors @ $0.04 = $4.16
35# Insulated 1- 80% Copper @ $2.29 = $80.15
71# Insulated 2- 40% Copper @ $0.75 = $53.25
9# Insulated 85% Copper @ $2.39 = $21.51
96# Painted Old Sheet Aluminum @ $0.25 = $24.00
21# Stainless Steel @ $0.20 = $4.20

6# Dirty Aluminum @ $0.10 = $0.60 (NOT ACCEPTED by the first place I went to)
30# Steel @ $0.03 = $0.90 (ballasts, etc.- NOT ACCEPTED by the first place I went to)
9# Aluminum Wire @ $1.00 = $9.00 (aluminum wire NOT ACCEPTED by the first place I went to)
TOTAL FOR ABOVE $267.98 (497# OF STUFF KEPT OUT OF LANDFILLS)
Former stock broker w/ ~20 yrs. at one company. Spoke with 100k+ people and traded a lot (long, short, options, margin, extended hours, etc.).

NOTE: ANY stocks I discuss, no matter how compelling, carry risk- often
substantial. If not prepared to buy it multiple times in modest amounts without going overboard (assuming nothing really wrong with the company), you need to learn more about the market and managing risk. Also, please research covered calls (options) and selling short as well.
