Three years ago I found over 30 terribly corroded pennies in a Coinstar. Some were barely recognizable as coins and I wondered what to do with them. The answer was so easy - I added one to each roll of pennies that I gradually accumulated over the years. Today I'm bringing the last ones to the bank. Vendors might balk at accepting these, but hidden in rolls, these crusty zincolns get a new life.

Curious for a follow-up about this. Do you ever get any neg feedback from the bank? They probably don't inspect incoming rolls and just pass them on to unsuspecting customers. I just wonder if the customers who got them complain to the bank afterwards, and if it could get traced to your drop.
I don't like to put more than maybe a coin or two into bank rolls. I'm almost thru about two dozen bad ones I rescued from a Coinstar awhile back. I usually save the worst for last.

I have never gotten feedback from any banks. In the above mentioned case, I took them to a bank outside of my area. My close by, high frequency banks do not get these JUNKERS from me. However, there are banks 30-50 miles away that I see only 3-4 times a year. THEY get the crusties!!! Also, I must confess that I have dumped small bottles of them into my dump machines earlier this year.
I also set aside damaged, ugly, black and or corroded nickels to be rolled up. When I get 2-3 rolls of them, some random bank gets them. Laughing my ass off as I type this!
