Gotta watch those Reddit guys. I used to participate in the WS Silver group and saw on multiple occasions where click-seeking members would steal the pictures of previous posters and claim that it was their own stack.

Kind of floors me that people post their stacks' photos on WSS so often. Sure, it is probably not going to catch up with them, but bragging is the last thing you want to do concerning stuff you should keep q-u-i-e-t about on a stranger-filled forum.

Are they truly skunk (ZERO copper) boxes OR are they basic sh*t boxes (5-10 percent copper)?

I have 20 unsearched Loomis boxes.
($500 face). Mine are around 20 percent copper.

Stopped in a TD bank today in Portland and they told me they are not giving out boxes of pennies possibly anymore. Could be that branch policy. I got some last week from them, a box, no problem. Will see if other branches start doing the same.

My kids were having a "penny war" at their school last week. A jar in each class with a competition on which class collects the most pennies. I wanted to get $5 in pennies. I went to THREE banks and only got a total of $3 face before I gave up. I miss the days of walking into random banks I passed by and getting boxes with no questions asked.

That's exactly why I hoarded boxes a few years ago!!!!! I knew these days were coming; it might get worse.

In my area, things aren't that bad (yet). But some banks are now limiting people to $5 a day which is fine if you have access to a lot of banks like I do.

I used to have two Credit Unions that would call me when they had a lot of CWR, because it saved them from having to unwrap, count, and bag them. Now none of my CU's even deal with cash at all (and definitely not coins). Anything involving cash has to be done through an ATM.

There are a bunch of holes in the top of the boxes (Loomis?) and I can see they're all new zincs. My unopened boxes go back to 2009.

If you have a precise shipping scale you can weigh unopened boxes and estimate fairly accurately the net number of copper cents, to help you decide if it is worth your time to open the box.

I found a helpful link on the Fed's website showing how they are discontinuing penny processing at various coin fulfillment centers across the country. It appears that 41 out of 165 locations have stopped providing pennies.

So, where are the billions and billions of cents that have been produced. If the Fed doesn't have them, and the Treasury doesn't have them, then they are either in the back of bank vaults, or in jars in homes around the country.

Does that mean banks will not have a means of ordering cent boxes from Loomis or Brinks, etc. ? If so, will businesses start rounding up or down when cash purchases end in $ .01, .02,.03,.04 ?
