2010

Is there a big mintage difference between the 2010 P and D? I recently got back into nickel sorting and got a bag which I found I'd say 5% 2010 and every single one of them were P's.

In all my searches, I have only found six of the 2010 nickel. Of the six, five were the P mint mark and one was the D.

So they are about as rare as the 2009 nickel down in my neck of the woods.

ENjoy your coin searches, everyone. :geek:

Thats interesting Preservingthepast. I am sure there would be many people who would gladly trade you some 2010's if you so desired. The thing about 2010's is that the ones I've come across (just in pocket change) have all been in IMMACULATE condition. Like BU. Obviously the fresh out the mint (or were a year ago) but they look so nicey and clean that sometimes you just forgot all about the mintages.....

Then you wake up from your dream 8-)

Thanks, but no need for me to really acquire the 2010s as my nickel album stops at 1964. They are just still so rare here for me in Central Florida that I sit up and take notice when I see a 2010 coin, especially the nickel. I have a jar that is 3 1/2 inches across at the bottom. I have put all non-penny 2010 coins I have gotten in this jar, even the quarters that I paid a premium for, and the coins are only one inch deep in the jar. SO, not many at all, mainly the 2010 dime.

It's just fun to find something out of the norm as I do my coin roll searches.

Enjoy your coin searches, everyone. :geek:

I finally found a few 2010 D's. I have yet to find any 2009. I don't go through a lot however I'm a penny guy, but in the past 18 months I've gone through about 10 boxes with no 2009's. As far as I can tell they seem to be more rare and buffalo since I have found two of those.

The 2009 dime is finally popping up fairly regularly down here so I can at least get some 2009 coin for the kids' anniversary coin jars. The other coins from 2009 are still pretty rare for me to find also. It's just always fun to have something different show up in a search. Of course, the kids' birth years in pennies and their wedding year in all coins are always greatly appreciated when I can find them in my searches.

Funny how the coins seem to have been dispersed so unevenly across the country. :!: :?: :!:

Enjoy your coin searches, everyone. :geek:
