Just started sorting recently and I just found a 1940 Silver War Nickel

Silver War Nickels started in 1942 right ? I guess there may be a chance my coin isnt silver..

Take a look at the reverse of the coin. For 1942, if there's a big P or S above the building its a silver nickel. If thats missing, its copper/nickel. All 1943,44,45 nickels were silver composition.

War Nickels are US. Both countries had silver nickels at a point but not in 1940, im not sure of this but someone else can speak up

In Canada 5 cents are made of .800 silver 1911-1921 and .925 for 1858-1910
you can't find them in roll because they aren't the same size

The Canadian silver 5 cent is basically the same size as the US half dime, apparently the common term here was "fish scales" because the coins are so small and thin.
