I'm probably 30% through and have already found 3 40%. Is there any other dates I should be looking for. How do I know a proof if I get one?

Clad proofs generally have frosted reliefs and a mirror finish field. you'll know when you see one.

Include the 1970. It is 40%. It was not intended for circulation. They are worth a few bucks more than the other 40% halves.

Look for the S mint marks.

1987's are worth saving also.
