Wife was getting tired of my coin hobby until

Postby Poolsplusbydk » Tue Apr 12, 2011 6:26 pm

I bought the bag of halves and got 3 40% and I told her that it had a silver value of almost 20.00 and was not a bad return for an 45 min or so of sorting. So today I ask her jokingly if she had looked through the halves that customers had brought in(she is a teller) and she was like ok what do I look for? I say 1970 and before. I get a text an hour later saying she had found 2-69s, 4-67s, 1-64' and 2-68's. The best part is she is a corporate teller and travels to multiple locations each week. The real question is do I sell the halves give her the 70 bucks to add to her shopping budget and keep her motivated?

HaHaHa.

Give Her 70 bucks?

How long have you been married dude? It's her 70 bucks to begin with!

Your ass is hers. She is right and you are wrong and you better learn to accept that fact.

Guess I haven't been married long enough to loose that persuasion.

I would pat her on the back, suggest she blow 50 bucks, save 20.

Tell her how smart and attentive she is (really kiss her butt, and like it). Tell her stories about how folks bring loads of silver to the bank.

You guys are in a great/fun position. This sounds like a fun time for a couple.

PS I'm just busting you balls about the marriage stuff.

Congratulations to you and welcome the Realcent!

I thought you must be a newlywed. You will soon learn what is hers is hers and what is yours is hers and that she is always right and you never are.

HAHA. No idea. But the wife did say that the guy that calls into all their branches each month is not going to like the amount of silver he finds next time he picks up!

I suggest you stack until you have four rolls plus then look at how many eagles or .999 you can trade for at local dealer or coin show. Suggest that it is for Our future an that you both enjoy a nice dinner at Out Back Steak house 8-) Then keep on Stacking :D But that's an OLD fellow of 73 after 50 years of marriage who stacks on the cheep ;)

I think you should out for 20% if you sell now. JMHOP

if you don't want her to blow it, you have to motivate her.

put them in a jar and put a post it on the jar with the count and the melt value. put it somewhere visible like your kitchen table. update the value for her daily. she'll take pride in her growing wealth and her role in it and will not want to take funds from what she has accomplished.
