Do you think it will be before the hoarders get the best of the mint, and they are forced to change composition?

???

Don't think hoarding has anything to do with it. They are costing more than they are worth in face, and they already have plans in play to change it. Don't know the timing, but expect it within 2-3 years, with less than a year warning.

People aren't hoarding the zincs are they? If you removed all the copper from circulation it would be like 25% of all the pennies. Would that really make much of a dent?

Does anybody know what the mint is currently paying for the copper plating on the zincs? They should be melting down the old ones!

they are looking at changing composition now only to save costs, not because of hoarders per se.
