Anyone ever collect pallets for money? Do you think it is worth it?

I had considered it once when I saw a craiglist ad of someone buying them, but that post is now gone and I have not found an outlet, so I do not mess with them. I see them quite a bit on craigslist where folks are trying to get rid of them, but no one wanting them.

There is definitely a secondary market for them. It all depends on the quality of the pallet, but they are priced between $1 and $7 per unit. It really just depends on if there is anybody around you buying them up.

I think there would be a resale market for large wooden cable spools also. Once again, the trick is finding a buyer.

I take them home, cut them up and use them for camp fire wood.

I believe that there are guys around my area that pay a couple of $ for them.

Yeah, that is the operative phrase, "regular buyer".

Good used 40" x 48" 4-way pallets will bring around $8.00 each in the Omaha area. Must be hard wood and not broken. We used to sell 50-70 a month back in the day. Hey, it paid the truck payment!

There is a pallet recycling plant about 20 miles from me and they have a sweet deal on plywood. I buy 45" x 32" x 1" plywood for $2 a piece, they make great flooring in sheds or whatever else you choose. They also have 3/4", 5/8", % 1/2". They have a mountain of these things and if people who are renevating would use their noggins they could save a bundle.
Got Laminated Lincolns? Give me a buzz.

Look around in industrial areas. I have seen at least two 'pallet yards' places in Phoenix that do nothing but buy and sell pallets. Unfortunatley, when I lived there and worked right next to one, I didnt have a car to pick any up to sell.
