$500 Brink's Box of Halves

Absolutely Nothing - SKUNK!!

Maybe 90% of the halves were 1998-P BU coins. I've seen a few of these boxes lately. However, it's nothing like the 40 or so consequtive solid boxes of 1994-P BU halves I plodded through last fall. I have a partner in my area and we are both dumping away at our local Dunbar serviced Union Bank. We will move these crummy 1998-P BU halves over from Brink's to Dunbar ASAP.

Noob here in Oklahoma. I'm waiting on $2k in bagged halves at my credit union (due for delivery tomorrow). In the meantime, I went to 10 different branches (7 different banks) looking for halves. The first 9 I struck out completely. The 10th looks like a promising source. They had $50 in Brinks rolls available, and they thought there were more in the vault, but it was closed for the day. They told me that they keep halves in stock, and their other branches do too, but a guy was in the day before for $1k so they are "low" right now. Seemed like they will be willing to order for me in decent quantity, as they acted like the other guy getting $1k was no big deal. I'll definitely be returning there and opening an account.

Dumped my earlier dimes, and went to pick up 4 more boxes of dimes and 1 box of quarters. Sure glad I did because dime box #4 was a monster dream box for dimes with 90 keepers in it. 16 of the 50 rolls had silver in them, with some rolls having 8, 9, and 12. None of the rolls had only 1.

Bank had over $200 halves but the teller recognized what I was doing and said they were brought in by another collector who had already gone through them, so I declined. I appreciated him saving me the wasted effort and time.

Then, I went to a small Chase branch inside a grocery store. I had gotten some silver here before from the tellers' coin trays. This time they had:
