1-Box Nickels= Skunk
Today was unusual. I dumped six boxes of nickels today and they were not near as good to me as typical and some of you know I go after war nickels.
I haven't had enough cash to play with halves right now. My business was existing on 60 day pays for the large jobs and living on the little stuff that pay zero to thirty and then the bottom fell out and stuff started going over 120 and they accounting departments were still not answering the phone.
I am finally catching up some; it's never possible to recover completely.
So some below average boxes of nickels.
I recently found five CW rolls of halves which had two Benjamin’s and 16 other silvers and today a lady brings some old rolls to break open into the change counter. I politely asked if she would just sell me them instead and she agreed.
I had one each of pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters purchased for face.
I found
1-1951 Washington Quarter
1- 1920 something Mercury Dime
3- Roosevelt’s 1940D, 1948, 1964
1-1956 Silver Canadian Dime
4- Steel Pennies including a 1943S
1-1949 Octagonal Canadian George VI
I then dumped my nickels and the machines in the bank lobby were loaded with coins in the reject chute and magnets.
1-1928 United States of America, Philipinas, One Centavo coin about the size of a quarter, cool! They don't have USofA on the new stuff!
1- 1995 Swiss, 2 Franc Coin Nice sized coin.
1-1967 Australia 10 something coin with exotic fern under the ten.
1-1975 Jamaica Ten Cent Coin, about like their current 10 Dollar Coin in size (quarter)
Also 5 dollars of Canadian Quarters which brings me to 34 rolls found now.
Lots of Canadian dimes and nickels
Coins from Somalia, Guyana, Zambia, India, Bahamas, Bermuda, England, Euro’s, China and France.
I also added 2 dozen tokens from odd places including the local $.50 Slots Tokens (Delaware Park)
I recently have put together a storage system for all my free coins from around the world.
I am amazed at the scope and volume. 95% came from the coin counters and the 1 Lb coffee can of coins I had were my start.
So, I got some silver and had some fun.
Happy Hunting! (you too UDEric…………. love to know where you hunt, lol)
