How do you store your bullion

Postby kidman232 » Mon May 09, 2011 5:17 pm

people may or may not want to answer this question, but I figure I will ask anyways. How do you go about storing your bullion, do you keep each oz in its own case? 20 round eagle tubes, stacked inside a storage box that doesnt move etc? Also anyone go out and get a safe or security box for there stash?
never enough silver

I keep mine stuffed in a bank box, safest place on the planet, aside my hoard hidden in the septic tank.

I put all my gold bullion into a five gallon bucket.

 LMAO that's great

I tend to stick to the ASEs and most of everything else I acquire I try to trade for an ASE. I keep them in individual cases, but I'll be the first to tell you I don't have enough to really have to worry about storing in bulk! lol

Everything's in plain sight on top of an antique oak sideboard. This enables me to run my fingers through it when I need to. Also have many firearms hanging on the wall. Yeah, it's basically a burglar's dream come true over here. But, I'm surrounded by elderly neighbors, any one of whom could tell you the make, model and tag number of the last car that went by. They even grill the substitute mail carriers...better than rottweilers they are.

I do have an old, heavy safe for the stuff if I ever go away more than a day, which is never.

Bullion safety is better ensured by massive weight. My top end gun safe is weighted by my bags of Cu and Ni. The 4" bolts into the concrete floor also assist in the comfort factor. Even when you think you have enough protection, add some more.

I use my food saver to double vacuum seal them. I divide the name brands and then make different denomination bags, 100 oz., 50 oz., 25 oz., 10 oz. then I build them into the safe house so the only way anyone could find them would be to use a wrecking ball and excavator. I had a safe deposit box but this is much safer.

I work above a bank, and safe deposit box is 5 floors down....in the box I have cash in 3 currencies, gold, silver, diamonds, my passport and a pint of spirits.... I would keep some heat there, but for obvious reasons I don't.
