1/10 oz AGE for $155 & 1 ASE for $34 each + $9.95 shipping

Not as good as the First Fidelity Reserve deal because of the shipping charge, but still a good deal IMO.

Company: Paramount Rare Coin and Currency
Phone: 877-277-2646
Coin: $5 American Gold Eagle – 1/10 oz fine gold
Price: $155.00 per coin
Coin: 2011 American Silver Eagle
Price: $34.00 per coin
Shipping: $9.95
Magazine: American Legion – May 2011
Page: 4
V V #: ALO511

$34.00 ASE + $9.95 shipping = $43.95 shipped

$155.00 AGE + $9.95 shipping = $164.95 shipped

$34 ASE + $155 AGE + $9.95 shipping = $198.95 shipped for both

Just wanted to advise that I placed an order on Tuesday & my credit card has already been charged.

Also, the saleslady I spoke with did try to sell me some of their other products to me (90% silver for about 37x face). I politely decline & that was that.

I tried to buy these and they said they would call me back when they had a someone available to take my order.

When I first called, they told me that the would have somebody call me back within a hour. I waited 2 hours and didn't receive a call back, so I called them back and told them I had been waiting for a call back. They transferred me right over to the "currency dept" and a woman named Tessica took my order.

I called them, spoke with "Alex" who told me he was the sales manager. We talked for awhile about advertising costs, loss leaders, etc. He says they typically lose about $40 on theses deals, but he's been doing it for eleven years. He didn't try at all to sell me slabbed graded coins, though admitted that they have them available. He said that they do have Pamp Suisse 5 gram bars available at $269, which is cheaper than APMEX, so ... since I felt a bit sorry for him, I did order one of those to see how they look. I think this one, at least, is a legitimate offer. ;)

Ditto on what Beaundros said. I also went ahead and took them up on the 5gram. Seemed like a nice guy. said the promo was meant for veterans but they will still honor it

The quoted me $296 for the 5 gram bar guess their price went up??

I just did the 1/10 gold and the one ounce silver.

She told me they are getting 100's of calls per day and said that my coins will probably not go out for 15 days.

I called and ordered this. The guy kept testing me, and then just asked for the name of the website that I got this information from. He said it's fine that I didn't get it from the actual magazine, but said that the ASE at $34 is no longer available, but would sell it to me for $44. So I got ASE+AGE for $209 shipped.

On a side note, these people seem like a good company. The sales manager ("Alex") has actually been commenting on the site where I was reading this information:

I ordered this on April 29th and she confirmed my order but my credit card was never charged and I never got an order.

I remember asking the sales lady if I was going to get a confirmation email and she said no.

Anyone else have a similar problem?

I got a call from Tessica but missed it; called back a little later and told she had left for the day.

The guy who answered the phone told me that there was a delay in their shipment from the mint and they had over 500 orders that were still pending and waiting to be processed/delivered.

Not very happy with them; I got my package and it only had the silver eagle in there

My receipt says that I was charged for both the silver eagle and the gold eagle.

So I called and talked to someone in customer service; she said that everyone from packing went home for the day and that she would have to check on it tomorrow.

She said that she knew they were shipping silver eagles like crazy because they were waiting on their order and got a bunch in.

She said it might have just been an oversight and that she would be meeting with the packing manager tomorrow.

Five minutes later she calls me back and said she spoke to a supervisor who said that they would have to review the tapes of when my package was prepared and see if it was pocketed by the packer or if it was just an oversight.

She said it would take a couple of days

If the video doesn't show that it was a packing error she told me I would have to take this up with the post office.

Well I got some good news today; they called and said it was their error and they were going to mail me my gold 1/10.

She said they ran out of the 2011 and asked if it was ok if I got a 2010 and I said that it didn't matter.

She then tried to sell me 3 more 2010's and I asked if they were at the same price I had paid and she said no.

She said the older coins are a little more expensive and are going in the $220 range a piece???????????

I told her no thanks that I would just be fine with the one that I paid $155 for.

Hope to get the package in the next couple of days.
