5/20/11 & 5/21/11, Sixteen boxes $500.00 halves (total $8000.00 halves):

Box #26 -- Skunk
Box #27 -- Skunk
Box #28 -- Skunk
Box #29 -- One 1969D
Box #30 -- Skunk (silver), NIFC 2006, Five 2010 (didn't start looking for NIFC until this box).
Box #31 -- Skunk (silver), NIFC 2006
Box #32 -- Skunk
Box #33 -- One 1967
Box #34 -- Skunk (silver), NIFC five 2010
Box #35 -- 1966, 1968D, NIFC 2002
Box #36 -- Skunk
Box #37 -- Skunk
Box #38 -- Two 1968D, NIFC 2005 three 2010
Box #39 -- 1967, 1968D, NIFC 2004P, plus an extra brilliant 1989 - might be a proof, I'll check with the LCS. One roll was one coin short.
Box #40 -- Skunk
Box #41 -- Skunk (silver), NIFC 2010

Pretty disappointing considering the quantity and time put in. The branch manager said that all the banks in Washington are getting their coins from the armored car companies, who in turn churn them through a single processing facility. Don't know if this is true. If it is, then I'm likely going through some of the same coins week after week. But it wouldn't explain the big score I got earlier this month from my credit union. It still really bugs me that they will neither order more for me, nor tell me where they got them.

Edit: Anyone know what the NIFCs are worth? I'd like to sell those. Where's a good place to unload them?

I got an interesting note from my credit union vault manager. The Brink's delivery guy told my CU that I was wasting my time ordering halves. He left a note for me to call the coin manager at the local Brink's facility. Could BRINK'S be pulling the SILVER out at the same time that they roll the halves? Does Brink's have machines that do this? From my first box, I can see that it is not 100% accurate. Perhaps they have some employees doing it by handsorting. Anybody run into this? Should I make the call, or just keep ordering more halves?

Have you found out anything yet???

I never called. Also, since these halves are attrocious, I'm doing dimes now.

Went on lunch hour to a bank I get a few halves from time to time - never saw silver before.

I knew I was on to something when the lady said "if you go to the main lobby next door they have lots". "Lots!" Oh yeah!

I was unprepared but had $20 with me. Got 40 and as I walked back to work, I sorted them and I spied a 1967. Bingo! I happened to have extra cash with me and went back 90 minutes later. Out of $121 worth of loose halves, I got 2-64's and 8-40%'ers. Not bad!

I'll have to visit them more often.

To be honest, it felt a little like "stealing" or "cheating" - the clerks seemed to have no idea about the bag of halves real contents.

I can see why you all do this - it is exciting when you find silver! And the misses was impressed also! :)

Good luck everyone

Congrats and WELCOME!!! :)

From what you say, I'm assuming that you searched $121 of halves and found a total of 2-64s and 8-40%ers.

Country, PM me the guys number and the info on the bank that gave you the number and I will call him. ;)

I would be fun to see if he wonders how I am getting them in Michigan.

The latest SILVER stats for May have been posted. Look to the first post of this thread to get the details. Always look to the line just before the Kitco quotes to see the last post that was included in the latest update.

This will be the last update for May until the final May update is posted on June 1, 2011.
