Local Scrap Prices

Postby Lemon Thrower » Mon Jul 11, 2011 7:53 am

scrapped a broken beach chair (aluminum) this weekend and some miscellaneous steel.

local yard paid me 40 cents a pound for aluminum and 11 cents a pound for the steel.

are these good prices? is tubular aluminum higher or lower grade than cans?

Prices by me in So. Az

Painted Alum .65 lb
Alum MLC .70 lb
Steel .095 lb
Alum Cans .75
If the alum had any steel on it would go for .35 a pound as Dirty Alum

You did good LT.
Especially on the steel.

They really knock down the price for contaminated Al.
