Quick question.. I noticed a few tires with rims on them and was wondering how to cut the tires off.. just use a sawzall? I can leave the rubber..Thanks Diggin

I have used an angle grinder with a thin metal disc. I think this is faster than a sawzall.

break the bead and just a half minute with two big screw drivers and a hammer and the tire will come off.

My yard will pull them off for me on the "mag" wheels, I have to take the tires home though.

If you want to get a tire off and remove the tire at the same time a small Auto Repair shop/ Used Tire shop/ hole in the wall mechanic might let you do it.

A used tire place near me will take the tire off and dispose of it for $5. Might be able to get a better deal with a little luck.

I've got a friend that works for a tire store. Not a small one either. He is in good with the manager, and I have spent quite a few bucks up there to begin with. I simply take them to him and he does them on his lunch break. I usually give him a few bucks for doing it, but I have also given him some really good deals on parts before.

Take care of your friends.

I don't own one, but am thinking about getting one.

Yards by me will not take them with the tire on. I only do the Alum ones as its not worth it for the steel ones. Drill a hole in the sidewall close to the rim and then cut around it with the sawsall.

I lay the tire in front of the tire of my truck, and drive over over it, and it usually breaks the bead pretty easily..then I cut a "wedge" out with the saws-all.
