guy refurbishes "old safes", finds a "hoard" of old wrapped rolls, and doesnt have the "time or desire to unwrap them all"....yeh but he has the time and dough to list them all on Ebay...hey! if anybody has an adventerous nature to deal with this scound......i mean , gentleman, please let us know what you get.......oh, things are getting wacky in the old silver market!

Y'know, given another thread here on the forums, this would be quite the idea to dump excess half dollars other than a bank.

Get yourself a coin wrapping machine, salt a few Franklins and 40% halves into the mix to ensure "genuine silver finds" by some bidders, keep a sockpuppet account or two to make sure the positives are up on the seller account, and it'll be (somewhat) easy money.

Think unsearched wheat penny rolls. What do sellers of those do to get people to bid the prices up ?

Sure I buy safes that are full of coins from coin dealers that went out of business all the time. And who would have the time or desire to open rolls of silver coins? Just another creative story that some sucker will fall for and pay way too much for a roll that has a two 40%ers in it. The bigger the story the more the coins sell for.

All his sales are private. I always wonder about sellers that do that too. But he does have 100% feedback up till now anyway.

I wish you could warn the bidders. This type of thing turns people off to precious metals and makes all of us look bad.

Check his past Ebay sales too. Many coin but not one safe. Hmm, he sells coins and has found some supposedly winning rolls in a safe. Why sell them unsearched? Especially with silver prices doing what they are doing. Will we ever be able to see the feedback for these private auctions?

you know what to do brethern! take him out. complain, send him idiotic insane questions, break his bolls, complain some more to the Ebay folk, make every waking moment of his scamming Ebay life a screaming hell.

this kinda THING IS the whole problem, guys just like this...from low, this fellow, to high, the 535 walking talking haircuts that are gonna bury us. you cant do anything..well, except vote, about the 535's game, but you can certainly effect this chaps "commerce".

I couldn't agree with you more its a nice idea but Ebay doesn't care about doing what is right all they care about is collecting their fees. I have complained on several auctions and all I get is a form letter from them thanking me for bringing it to their attention and that they will look into the matter. Well nothing is ever done the auction is allowed to play itself out and the sale is made and Ebay gets their fees.

The reason he won't get neg feedback is that it's now gone beyond a flat rip-off and become a prideful embarrassment. No buyer is going to want to admit he got taken.

Its a ripoff no doubt. But it is a CLEVER ripoff using the "mystery grab bag" idea to garner bids. It appears to be working. But clever or not, I'm with neilgin, put him in the stocks.
