...and I see a wheat. No big deal. I grab it and look at the date and it's covered in some gunk that won't scrape off. I flip it over on the slimmest of hope and...



You now have my attention. I've cleaned it (lowered the value, I know. So what, never gonna sell it.) and I'm 99% sure it's not a 1909S. The scan doesn't do it justice. I can barely make out the date in the right light, but there is nothing to indicate a S. Oh well. Still a cool find.

What you have there is a dateless 09s vdb and should be represented as such.

I don't see an "s", but I think I see a mysterious face similar to that Martian landscape satellite photo thingy from years back. It's just inside the red circle at about 12 o'clock. Blow it up more!
