went to some banks today looking for loose halves since the boxes around here don't yield jack. I almost passed by a bank that I have been in before because they weren't very helpful with an account issue I had. At the last second, I decided to turn in and see if they might have anything. I spoke with the teller and she said that she had just given some lady all of her halves last night. She told me to wait a minute for the other teller because she might have some. After about 5 minutes the other teller returned and she said she didn't have any either. As I was about to walk off, the first teller told me to wait a minute more. From the safe under the counter, she pulled a coin out and laid it up on the counter. I was excited to see a dark 1941 walking liberty sitting there. she said she found it awhile back and it looked different so she showed it to another teller. The other teller told her to keep it for her. she said the teller hasn't said anything about it in awhile so I could have it. I gave her 50 cents and I was on my merry way. Sorry for the long drawn out story, I am just excited because this is my first silver half of any kind at face value. I've been on a bad streak for awhile only pulling one silver dime out of my last 10 boxes or so, this made my day. Hopefully my luck is turning around, we will see how it holds up on tomorrow's hunt.
