40% silver quarter

Postby fasteddy » Thu Aug 25, 2011 4:10 pm

Does anyone know for sure the weight of this quarter...the one from the 1976 three coin proof set? Is it half of the 40% JFK half(5.75 grams)? Just did a P/U on loose coins from CL but they are still encapsulated. My Inquiry mind wants to know.

5.75 grams for the SILVER.

5.67 grams for the clad.

Yep I think the subject line got alot of second looks....@Treetop...I almost have a roll now....however they are encapsulated...so it more like a stack with blue painters tape keeping them together.

If you don't mind getting the 40% Ike and Kennedy with them you can find them on e-bay for anywhere from a little under to a little over spot. The proof versions are especially pretty. Search for "bicentennial silver mint set"
